how to take off gsr head
i have a gsr motor and i would liek to know can anyone show me how to take off the head, if there are pics that would greatly help. thanks..
well start by un bolting everything from the head i.e.(intake manifold, valve cover, sensors) once u get everything off of the head and pull the valve cover start unbolting everything once the cams r out i belive u will be able to see the head bolts
Don't just start unbolting the head. There is a sequence to follow.

u dont need to take out the intake manifold to remove the head. just disconnect all electrical connectors and vacuum lines and maybe some brackets. unbolt the header from the head, remove the valve cover, loosen the timing bolt tensioner bolt and slip the timing belt off the cam gears. drain the radiator. remove the cam caps and cams in order to get to the head bolts. then unbolt those. i dont think there is an order to unbolting them, but to play it safe, start with the middle head bolts and work your way out. it's easy to take something apart. just remember where everything goes when u reinstall them
oh i see, is there a certain amount of torque pound i have to put the bolt back on, and should i start from the middle going back out when i put the bolts back on. thanks.
You should first go get yourself a helms manual or a chiltons manual or a haynes manual. U sound kind of new to this. If u pick up one of these manuals it will give u all the torque specs for everything. Dont just go unbolting stuff. Figure out where everything is and how it bolts up. Then use the manual to tear it all down. Why are u taking your head off in the first place?
