Tranny Question
Ok, I have a good one for you guys and no one else I call or ask seems to know, maybe someone out there knows. I have a 95 Coupe 1.5 SOHC Non-vtec, somewhere from the clutch housing area its leakin oil. Rear main is fine because my motor has been the same level for the 2 weeks its been doin it, the tranny fluid keeps getting low so I know its that. What seal is in the clutch housing area behind the thorwout bearing, is it the input shaft seal or something else? Also if its that seal, can it be replaced from the outside of the tranny (right behind the thorwout bearing) or will the whole bellhousing have to come off? Thanks for the help, clutch is slippin like a bitch and need it figured out so I can see if I should just get another tranny or reaplce the seal and wait until the motor swap this March
I know I need to remove the tranny, I gotta do the clutch too, thorwout bearing is bad and now the clutch is slippin, but what I need to know is if the input shaft seal is replaceable from behind the thorwout bearing or do I need to take the tranny apart to get to the inside, its a standard D15 non-vtec, in a 95
Tranny must be disassembled to replace the seal. Should also replace the input shaft bearings and possibly countershaft bearings while you're in there as they are known for going bad on hondas and make a ticking sound while in neutral with the clutch engaged.
As long as you have a helms you should be good to go.

Whats a helms? and I thought it would had to be disassembled, any idea how much those bearings and stuff should cost? Thanks, now I know to be prepared when I do the job.
