Default Painting an Intercooler

Can I paint my intercooler?

It is quite revealing behing my front bumper and I was wondering what I can do to hide it while maintain the stock look of my car. I thought about spraying a black coat of paint over it. Is this a good idea or will it significanly hinder the performance of the intercooler?

any particulay type of paint? I was gonna use all purpose flat black, which i used on all my piping. It seems pretty thin but is there anything thinner or more practicle to use? Is there such thing as intercooler/ radiator paint?

see if you can get it anodized. it will look super clean and it add corosion protection the the aluminum. plus if you do it black it will be real hard for people the see it behind your grill. down side its not cheap do get done.

Jesus christ. This topic pops up every week. Use radiator paint and just go light on it until its as dark as you want it.

You don't even really need radiator paint. Use some BBQ grill paint. It's flat black and hold up nicely. I'll have to get pics of mine one of these days.
Make sure you spray the intercooler at an angle. Don't get the paint down inside the core too much. Light coats are the key.

I think i'm going to attatch home window type screen in front of the intercooler, behind the horizontal plastic pieces in the ek type civic's grill. Should be effective at keeping sight out anywhere over 5 feet or so and bugs and rocks off the fins.
