205/55/15 tire rubbing?
would that tire size on the stock rims rub something like the springs or something? i hear some noise and it sounds like rubbing. would it rub if the car was lowered about 3/4 of an inch?

i have 205/55/15 dunlop 5000 tires on my R now. it's completely stock and rubs at close to full lock in both directions. i would think a lowered car would rub even worse.
damn. well aleast it isn't something too bad, i was thinking a motor mount came loose or something. yeah i see some wear on the inner part of the wheel well. will too much of this be really bad?

tire rub is not really all that bad. you could conceivably put extra wear on your tire or suspension components (maybe even throw out your alignment), but i'm not worried about it. just don't turn the wheel so much it rubs, and get different sized tires next time.
i got the 205/55 because i was looking for a cheap set of tires for the winter. the 205/50 were $10/tire more expensive, and i figured the extra tire height would help to protect the wheels. it also helps to counteract the effect of 205/50 tires on the odo. i probably should have just gotten real winter tires, but these work quite well.
