I heard this Ticking Sound that came from my motor its an 00 SI motor
and one day i drove it i kept h earing a ticking sound in my motor. Can you guys tell me whats the problem?>

 

can you narrow down where exactly the sound is coming from? does it sound like valves, fuel injectors or what?

 

It's the valves. Welcome to Honda land. You can get a valve adjustment, but it will probably never go away. It's normal after miles build up. A valve adjustment isn't a bad idea though...

 

i dunno..i drove it when it was cold..like a duumass..but not tooo hard..i think its commingn from my Valve?? i dunno..im sad tho

 

there are some very informative threads on here on correcting the ticking noise you are talking about, if it in fact is the valves. just try searching around under archived material and you will find some good write-ups.

 

Its an overhead cam that ticking is normal. You dont have any weird injectors in your motor do you?

 

That motor is shot, just give it to me. Jk yea it is normal ticking it seems as if the b16 always has this problem

 

you can have 1 of 2 problems i think....

I had a SOHC and started hearing ticking sounds, everyone was like get your valves adjusted, so i did.....still had the tick, so now people said it was just cause of an older motor, its normal.....Then about 120 miles later BOOM, through a rod....

Now i got another SOHC and have anohter tick sound, im hoping its the valves which i doubt, but im getting them adjusted this week, hopefully all is well.

But maybe it couyld be rod knock?????? is that possible??? that will blow your **** up quick

 

Ticking if you just hear it when you open the hood, could be the normal sounds of the fuel injectors or the PCV valve in normal operation. Its subtle but once you recognize it, the sound is really in the foreground of the top of the engine.
