if your valves are adjusted then it could just be the ticking from your injectors. it gets confused with the valvetrain sometimes and some injectors can get loud. also some motor oils tend to show more of the noise of the valvetrain then others.

idid my valves on my 98 EK with 120,000 miles on it last week.. such a diffrence ican barelyhear that the motor is on now. after you calibrate your valves and u still think u have excessive noise i used a old skoolmethod .. a short hose to my ear and the other end to the valve cover to narrow down which valve needed more adjustment.

valve lash clearance specs for gsr motor
intake valves .006
exhaust valves .007
the manual says .006-.007 for intake and .007-.008 for exhaust. but i always adjust it to be on the tight side.

Re: tapping valves (Loi-Tech)
adjust the valves, and if the noise is still there or comes back after a week you might need to change your lost motion assemblies. I had that problem with my b16. I know gsr lma's are stronger, but dont rule it out especially since theres probably some milage on that motor.
