i have a ticking noise in my motor, anyone know what this is?
i have a ticking noise in my motor, mostly at idle, i have heard that my valves need adjusted is this true?

yeah..i missed the 30,000 check up on my LS..and i heard a ticking at like 34,500 so i got my valves adjusted...tick is gone...

Valve adjustment could help...also fuel injectors are rather chatty and make a lot of ticking noises. HTH

Yea you probably need a valve adjustment. I think dealer charges around $75-100 depending on where you go. You could get a manual and try it yourself...

Its the valves that make that ticking sound. All you need is to get them adjusted, i got mine done about a month ago, and it was 60 bucks, so not too bad, beats the stress to do it yourself.

Fyi if you have a helms, valve adjustment is cake, did it for the first time at 30k+ miles, took only an hour and it was my first time doing it, and working with the engine at all, no special tools needed for ls/gs vtec guys might want the snap-on tool however, stupid cam towers can be a pain.
