Clutch problems??? need some help.
Ok the car is a 2001 ITR. Mods are CAI, dc header 4-1, Apex N1 exhaust and vtec controller. Nothing major. The clutch is a ACT street disk with extreme pressure plate along with the ACT lightened fly wheel. This is just for background information.
Ok here is the problem. When you go to engage the clutch and apply pressure for about 75% of pressing on the clutch it is light as hell with almost no pressure. When you get to the last 25% of pressing the clutch down it finally gets hard and will engage and allow for the gear to shift. What could the possible problems be? maybe springs in the pressure plate? This is where I am confussed. The clutch is less then a year old with not that many miles on it. Maybe 20k miles on it. Broken in properly with no aggressive driving for the first 500 miles then. This is not a drag car nor is it launched hard. Mainly daily driving with a few burst of speed here and there.
Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

could be air in your clutch circuit too, you might be compressing the air during the first 75% of pedal travel. Make sure you don't have any leaks in the clutch master, or slave.

My car has some properties as yours. Exact same mods.
my ACT clutch is so stiff and engaged so fast that i either put too much gas or not enough gas, so it jerks. andsqeeks. ...
Do you know if there is a way to make it not too tight or stiff? Right now i have to apply so much energy when press down the clutch.

At the moment the car is not even able to get into gear. The clutch goes all the way to the floor now. No pressure what so ever. All this happend over a period of 3-4 days. Each day it got softer and the pedal got farther and farther down to the floor to engage it.

Not that I know of bro. The clutch is very aggressive as well, and it does require alot of pressure to engage it. Just go to the gym and work out your left leg. it will get used to it. hahah jk bro.
But back to the topic, any help guys is appreciated. At the moment the ITR is down.

Have you checked your Clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder? Have some one press on the clutch whill you watch the slave cylinder push rod and clutch fork. I thats OK must be the pressure plate.
Ok guys thanks for all the information. We checked it out and it was the master clutch cylinder. It was toasted. It leaked fluid into the cabin but you can barely see it. We got master clutch cylinder at the dealership at thier cost.( Friends with parts manager, service manager, and pretty much everyone there

Car is running good now and next is new tires. Thanks for the help guys.
