Default Winter oil

I read a great writeup on car storage for itr in the archives. It was said to do an oil change just before putting the car away. I usually use Mobil1 10w-30 (synthetic) as I'm sure many of u do during the summer. What winter oil would u guys use to store your car? The coldest it will get is about -25 C or so for you Americans I think that's around O F, not sure I'll check that. The car will be turned on once a month and allowed to idle as article says. What brand and type? Thx

I usually switch to 5w30 in the winter months, normally run 10w30 or 15w50 for trackwork...

Used to run Mobil One, but got tired of the consumption. Recently switched to valvoline full synthetic, and the car seem to be using less.

-25 C = -13 F

I'm not sure if starting your car at -25 C would cause more damage than just letting it sit for the entire winter. How much is a heated 10 x 20 storage unit?

since you'll be only starting up once a month, i wouldn't worry too much. i use 5w 30 all year around.

well it's in my garage. (I've got very nice parents.) It won't hit -25 C too often. I'll go with 5w-30 synthetic. Should I do another oil change when she comes outta hibernation?

I'm damn glad it doesn't get too cold here. I couldn't imagine putting my caR away for a whole winter.
