Re: (aznballer)
I just switched from 5w-30 to 15w-50 and i like it much better, I don't burn near as much and my oil pressure stays higher at idle, (previously 19, now 24psi)

Re: (RACEPAK)
Here is what I'm wondering. With the oil runing through the turbo, it would probably break down sooner becuase it is so hot. With a synthetic it would help to keep the oil from breaking down at the high temperature and also help lube the motor. I just can't justify spending the money on synthetic oil. Also, I'm running valvoline 10w-30 right now and my car doesn't smoke until I start boosting. Would a higher weight oil help take care of that?

My friend did an oil analysis in his auto-tech college. He found that castrol (non-synthetic) was actually one of the worst, and mobile 1 and amsoil were good, as expected (i dont think they tested royal purple). Suprrisingly Super tech (the $4.17 5 gallon walmart special) is one of the better oils. Basically as he said it the oils that advertise the most turned out to be the worst.
oh, and i run mobile 1 except for currently because i got a motor with bad oil rings (it was like that when i bought it) from a local shop so I use supertech.
Heres another resource if you'd like to read details http://www.bobistheoilguy.com
