Default OEM HID QUESTION

This is for a buddy of mine, he has the oem jdm hid front end, and last night one of his hid's went out. he was wanted to know what blub to replace it with, or does he have to replace the whole unit?????

damn, good luck finding someone who carries just the bulb. looks like you're going to have to buy a new set of headlights to use the unit.

Don't answer if you don't know the bloody answer! He needs a D2S bulb, the same as for the S2000 or 04' TL, or any BMW with HID. You can find them on Ebay cheap. Just search for D2S Philips

You can buy bulbs almost anywhere nowadays. The problem is trying to find a place that sells just one bulb. I'm sure a dealership will sell just a single bulb. Are you guys sure that his bulb went out? Those things are suppose to last forever. I would go back and check all the wirings for the ballast, and ignitor.

yep just replace the bulb. All of the oem lighting on the 98 spec hid headlights are Phillips 4300K

STFU. i said i was wrong and did not argue it. i honestly thought that the bulb would be damn near impossible to find because i thought it is specific to the ITR HID unit.

well if your buddy needs a OEM JDM ITR HID i have one for sale. i got into a accident in my ITR and the light got busted but the whole HID and projector and ballast survived..and im trying to get rid of it.

Check the fuses. Up the amperage for the lowbeams if not already.
