Default Advantages of getting rid of FITV?

I've heard of some people eliminating these things because they stop working and it's not really needed. Well thanks to a previous post we now know how to fix them but is there any other reason to eliminate them? Does hot coolant transfer heat to the throttlebody/intake? I bought a Bored TB that doesn't have it and I expected it to since my AEBS manifold doesn't have accommodations for it.

Right, but they have OBD2 which is designed not to have the FITV. I'm running a PR3 OBD0. I really don't want to have to hold my gas pedal down to hold an idle after every cold start.

I dont have to hold the gas down to get it to idle on mine.. I just adjusted the idle screw on the TB after the car was warmed up and it works great..

Uhh. no.. The first time I did it and it works fine all the time now.. That would kinda suck to have to adjust the idle screw everytime you start your car..

I was thinking the same thing...lol. Okay, good to know you can compensate for the FITV by adjusting the idle screw a bit.

I think the FITV is for cars in REALLY cold *** climates, but not too sure why some cars come with and some without.

I live in GA and for some reason or another I lost my cold idle a while back. No CEL, so fine with me. I tried cleanin them out yadayadayada, but it's not that aggrivating when you first start your car.

It's not like it's "hard" to start or anything.

In Seattle I am without my FITV and it sucks.. I have to hold down the throttle a bit until the engine is ready to idle on it's own.
