making an accord sohc vtec into a "prelude" dohc vtec?
i had heard that you can swap heads in the fifth gen vtec accords and the fourth gen preludes to make the accord a dohc vtec. is that possible? i know the two cars use the same head gasket, which means all the oil returns and bolt holes and everything are all in the same spots. would you have to wire in the crank position sensor and use the distributor and other accessories from the prelude? or am i just hearing a lie? i have researched the head gasket, so i know that is the same, but what about the rest?
and if this is true, then what would be the benefits, if any? other than obviously having a dohc instead of a sohc.

Like Mike said, not possible, unless of course you are a magician. With the aid of magic this "conversion" would be child's play. If your not a magician I would suggest trying to contact Harry Potter, even though Harry is a young and inexperienced magician his magic is strong, I feel he is up to the task.

as much as i enjoy the funny reparte, i was kinda hoping someone could actually answer my question. if you don't know, that is fine. but don't be an ***. i have been told is has been done before, but the guy is a walking windbag and i haven't seen the car. however, like i said, the head gaskets are the exact same part number so the head could bolt up. i was just wondering if someone else has actually tried doing this and what it would take.

no, actually what mike said was that he hadn't heard of it being done. which doesn't mean it hasn't been done. and you just said it can't be done unless you are a magician and so on and so forth. have you tried to do this? no? then tell me how you know that it can't be done. please enlighten me with your knowledge on this subject.
We're participating in a new scene. If you really want to know you'll need to find the dimensions of two engines or simply try it. I have seen this same question asked pertaining to B series engines and it was shot down quickly. Mixing two different series of engines usually doesn't work.
