i just stuck a turbo on my d16a6 in my 88crx si and i was planning on running 11lbs of boost.Im pretty sure the motor can handle it,but i want to hear other peoples imput too the motor has 160,000 miles on it and the compression tests out perfect(stock internals). I am currently shopping for an fmu i was thinking a vortech fmu ,an apexi v-afc and some 450cc injectors. anyone boosting sohc d16a6 let me know about your set up and how it works for you.Thanks!

I dont think an 11lb setup with a FMU is going to last that long..

May want to look into Zydne (spelling?) and maybe some rods, and pistons.

 

Nonesense! I ran 65 pounds of boost in my stock a6. It has been running for 20 years.

 

i think you could safely run 8psi. I wouldnt go any higher than that without beefin up the internals.

 

how much boost did you run?

 

I ran 11 psi with an fmu and it was fast but lasted 1 month till spun rod bearings, blown headgasket due to head bolts stretching.
now i have d16z6 turbo but at 6 till I get 450cc injectors

 

what are you using for fuel management on the z6
