Cam & Valvetrain install question
Im going to get my CTR's and valvetrain installed into my GSR next week. is there anything i need to know before i get this done?
i know i need to get a valve adjustment, but is there anything else?
and how much is a good price for the install?
im getting CTR cams, Spoon cam gears, ITR valvetrain, Portflow Retainers and Spoon Headgasket installed. TIA
anyone in Houston wanna get a group dyno going when i break these bad boys in?

Oh, you're paying somebody to do the work? I'd offer to help if my schedule wasn't hellatious enough.
If I ever get a header for the GS-R, I'd like to dyno and see how much of a difference it made.

thanks for the offer, but yeah, im going to end up paying someone.
i dont have a spring compressor nor the experience to use it. im also scared to mess with anything internally because i don't have the proper tools (torque wrench, valve adjustment tool etc.)

get all ur gaskets, seals, and grommets replaced with OE stuff
what type of header u using??
i would recommend ITr outer and portflow inner valvesprings
but ur set up sounds good

as of now, stock header, but ever since the "great header test" got back, im leaning towards a type-one, or a DC JDM. but that wont be for a while cause i have to drop my car....still stock height

Looks easy and is easy are two different things.
If you don't have much experience working on an engine, pay someone to do it. I learned that the hard way (it's kind of embarassing to have to tow your car to the shop cause you screwed the pooch on an install).
