on my 5th gen, when i gas it in first and second gear, the e-brake light momentarily turns on. what could be the cause of this? is it causing damage to the car or no?
I know exactly what your problems is bro........if your e-brake still works that is.
Well first off fill check both your brake fluids and clutch fluid.....if they are low, even by a hair then your brake lights will come on. I suggest filling it up to the max, start your engine, and walla light should be gone.
I had this problem for about a month, finally got off my *** and fixed it.
Well hope this helps you, if not, drop another post and I'll see if I can give you another hint.

yeah my e-brake still works, the light just comes on when i gas it, but yeah thanks man, i'll definately check it out, and if its still giving me problems, i'll let you know
Hold the e-brake down and see if it still happens. Sometimes the e-brake will get a little slack and will come up just enough to touch the switch which turns on the dash brake light.
