I have a 01 ls and during cold starts, the e-break light would be on even if the e-brake wasn't engaged. The light stays on for a good 10-15 minutes the turns off. Also, sometimes when I brake, the light would go off until I release, then it turns on again.

 

check your brake fluid level The indicator doubles as your ebrake and fluid level light.

 

hmm, i checked but everything looks fine to me.
