anyone removed their ATTS?
i'm gonna build my motor next year, but i can't decide if i should build my current Type SH motor and remove the ATTS, or just get a base block and tranny to build on.
i'd like to see some pics of anyone who has removed their ATTS and put up the adapter plate. was it hard to do? any suggestions or tips?

id suggest pulling the block+tranny+atts all at once, then swap in the built block and new tranny with a Quaife
Just get a bare block and start building it, then get ur tranny and so on. Less downtime to just swap in a new block and tranny than to pull the existing one then build it.

that's a good idea, and probably what i'll end up doing, but the $ it's going to take is gonna be up there. i'm willing to do it, but i'm looking for the least expensive resolution. plus i'd just like to see what this adapter plate is gonna look like anyway.
all depends on your budget. If you want LSD you are going to have to swap trannys anway due to that whole atts thing. ah well, good luck.
PirateMcFred has done this with success. I read a post from him quite a while ago. Talk to him and see what he says, maybe he can help you make a educated decission.

Ya, talk with Pirate. He can make you a plate/intermediate shaft to replace the ATTS unit if you want. If you end up wanting to keep ATTS, you will need a SH block (there isn't really a way to use ATTS on a non-ATTS block). There have been a few threads on here about using a regular transmission with an ATTS block, with pictures etc. If you can't find anything PM and I can help you search... A LSD is sort of like the ATTS, but lighter and less complicated. Quaife is the brand to beat. Good luck with your project.
