mounting non-atts tranny to atts block *searched*
I can't seem to fine the thread which covered this. Can someone either show me how to fabricate the bracket or show me where I can purchase one? Thanx.

If you're wondering if a Base model tranny will bolt up to an SH block, then yes it will bolt up, but you will have to change the wire harness and use a base model ECU for it to work. Then you will also have to modify the intermediate shaft

One of the threads on p-o.com is mine...the pics are here w/ descriptions: http://ian.clendaniel.net/gallery/noatts
I did it last year when putting my new motor in...the adapter is made from 1/4" plate and the bearing carrier is cut/rewelded so that all three bolt holes are still used, one being an actual block mount. You can also PM marcucci...he did the same on an SH pretty recently and made a couple interesting tweaks.

Why would you have to change the wiring harness ?

You don't. You don't even have to change the ECU. A friend of mine that races in HC installed a base trans. Didn't change the wiring harness or ECU. No problems.

None that he told me about, and he ran like this for probably a season, or the better part of a season (used a VAFC for "tuning"). He now runs a base engine and trans with an S300 P28 ECU.
