Default Comptech IceBox w/stock exhaust? Any feedback?

I'm about to get a CompTech Icebox. I know it doesn't flow quite as well as the Injen CAI but I don't want to deal with the bumper removal, etc. and I want to keep the intake quiet.

For those of you running the Icebox setup, what did it do to your low/midrange?

I have an Icebox with stock exhaust. The intake is pretty quiet, you won't notice it except in an enclosed area like a garage or tunnel. I think the throttle response is a little better, and there it's a little more powerful in the midrange. Doesn't do much for low or high.

I am also wondering about an Icebox... you say better throttle response and midrange power, but not low or high end? So basically are you saying that you can feel more power throughout the power band except when like... when the car is in vtec?

thanks... also, any feedback on an icebox and powergetter combo? This is what I am thinking of doing.

I have an EP3, I don't have RSX-S VTEC. I can't tell if it pulls any harder up top, but I guess I can't say it doesn't actually give you top end gains, they just aren't as noticeable on this car, probably because of lack of header and exhaust. I got the intake more for autocross, where I spend most of my time in the midrange. It has a slight whistling sound combined with a "throaty" sound when you floor it, but if you didn't know, you would think it were a stock intake. I does do the standard intake PSSSH when you shut the car off though.

On the Type-S, you can indeed notice a difference on the top end. You pretty much notice a difference everywhere.

Same here Comptech Icebox and Comptech Header with stock cat and exhaust. More important than the gains is the fact that there is no loss. I was able to avoid pulling the front bumper off during installation. It has a great low sound but only when your on the throttle or past 4000 RPM.
