Thoughts on using a RB25DET turbo on a F22

Thoughts on using a RB25DET turbo on a F22
I wanted to get people's thoughts on this RB25DET turbo which has a t3 flange. I was looking for a turbo to boost 6-8lbs max and spool quickly.
Can anyone rec'd any other turbo as well, even if I could snag it off another car. (Audi, saab, nissan, etc). I guess I will need something w/ a t3 flange on it.

They're decent if you're ok with low boost. The ceramic wheels in the things have a tendancy to explode when going over 10 psi or so.
Z31 300ZX turbos(late 80's) had pretty decent T3's. I've seen about 240-250whp out of them on 2.4L engines.

the ceramic baldes can't be pushed more than 15psi, or they pretty much detonate. They are ball-bearing if i remember correctly so spool isnt an issue.

You will have insane spool and good midrange power, just cant run high boost due to the ceramic wheel. Its should be good for anyone with a goal in the mid 200hp range.

I am going to put my stock RB25 turbo on my wifes GSR. It's a great turbo. I ran 12 PSI on my RB25 with no issues. RB20 owners run 1 bar with that turbo on there motors.

My buddy runs 15 daily on his rb25 and his has even seen 17-18 a few times and it has not exploded yet. Hes crazier then most though

I dont see why it wouldnt be a good turbo for 6-8lbs, in fact I think it would be a great turbo for that range since its bb and will spool faster but carry more top end than smaller turbos that spool similar yet its not too big thats it overkill with unessecary lag.
