I was due up for an oil change so i took my car to valvoline. after inspecting the dip stick oil was barely registering, this explained why my VTEC wasnt kicking in. i changed the oil and VTEC screamed thereafter. about 2 days after changing my oil my vtec doesnt even want to kick in now???? , what could this be? thanks h-t

 

Hmm did you check your oil level after vtec stoped working? Maybe your burning/leaking oil?

 

I just checked it and its fine. i should mention however i tried using a 2001 gsr ecu and it wouldnt work, the car wuld start,crank but not turn over. could that have messed things up maybe?

i did an oil change the other day and i took my car out right after and my VTEC kicked right in. And now 2 days later the VTEC doesnt work. it might kick in once and a while. And now im throwing a check engine light for my knock sensor.Its so weird, like out of the blue. Which enables VTEC to work, but i only get the code sometimes.and even when im not getting it, VTEC still doesnt work?

 

can anyone else tell me which ground wires i might need to look for or anything else that could fix this its really annoying?

 

my oil pressure is at 50psi could that have something to do with it
