oil and vtec question
I have a 93 civic hatchback si with a b16 swap and when I got the car about 2 months ago I noticed when the car went into vtec I really felt it push hard, to be honest it almost felt like my h22 in my accord. I noticed in the last 2 weeks though it seems as if the intensity of the vtec has went down dramatically and has been delayed, Vtec usually starts around 5000 rpm and now seems it does not start to around 6500 rpms. When it does go into to vtec it makes the loud noise but the car does not move at all. I have no check engine light and I did check my oil and l noticed it was a little down. There is a possibility that I put to much oil in the car because the oil goes way beyond those two little holes on the dip stick could this be causing my vtec not to push as hard or a weak or sticking vtec solenoid.

Re: oil and vtec question (TheAccordGuy)
yea. too much oil in a car usually causes it to bog down a bit.
if they're a good amount past the top dot then drain some out. and try again. just try to keep your oil in the middle of the two dots or at the most right at the top dot.
