Default Tach Reading right????

I finally got a tach for my car yesterday. It is a sunpro super tach II. I installed it right and when it is on and the car is warm it idles at 800 where it should be. Now my question is that i noticed today in the freeway that at 80 MPH the tach only reads 2500 RPM in 5th gear. To me that is really low compared to other cars i have seen. Oh yeah i have a jdm d15b vtec and the tranny is a d15b also. Is this where it should be or is my tach messed up?

If anything was off, I would suspect otherthings WAY before the tach. Like the wheel/tire size for one.

How did you wire up your tach? Are D15 trannys known for long gears?

i hooked up the power and light in the fuse box and i hooked up my green wire to the blue wire with a plug that isn't connected to anything.

My tires are stock 175/70/R13 stock rims with stock tire size

well...depends.

whats your tire size?

and then you gotta do 5th gear ratio, and final drive....

does the tach seem to work right when you arent on the freeway?

say normal driving, you hit redline and the tach goes up to 6800
