my 1992 prelude with a H22a4 maual trans is haveing a problem when engine is cold. sence i bought the car it runs like **** it is first started. I replace the wires, due to a engine dead spot (which i still have yet to solve) i have checked the plugs, they look good. When i go to take off a min after starting the car i get alot shaking like it doesent have the power to do it. When it warms up it run fairly well, plenty of power. My check engine light comes on ocasionly...

if anyone can give me any advice it would be appreciated..

 

First thing I'd do is pull the code when the CEL comes on. Then you'll know where to start...

Look behind your radio, and back in all the wires and crap is a small blue plug that is not plugged into anything. Bend a paperclip and stick it in both sides and turn the key to the accessory position (where there is power, but the don't start the car).

Then the check engine light will flash and tell you the code. If it doesn't flash at all, try putting the clip in a different way..just mess with it unil it flashes.

Watch the light for a while and see what repeats.

For example--

One long flash = 1

Four long flashes = 4

One long flash immediately followed by 5 short flashes = 15

Make sense??

Then you just look up the codes either on this website or a manual and find out what it is
