check engine light...
my uncle redlined my car. he brought it back and turned the engine off. when i started the car, the check engine light came on and the rpms moved up and down. the engine isnt as steady as it was before..any suggestions?

jump the code and see what it throws out. Then we can tell what the problem is or where it is comming from at least. Do you know how to jump the CEL Code?

To jump the CEL, go under the passenger panel, at the very right, youll see a little blue plug. Pull it down, and jump it (put a paper clip in it). Then turn on the power, the CEL will blink. Long blinks = 10, quick blinks = 1.
So if its long long fast fast = 22. fast fast fast = 3. etc.
anyone have a pic of that stuff -- i have a feeling saying this isnt going to be good enough

If your Uncle mis-shifted and went over the Redline, then there is a good chance he bent one or a couple of valves...
But you can tell when you have bent valves. Your idle is really shitty and the car will choke and NOT want to run. There's also a ticking noise that will come from the motor.
If all of this applies, then get a compression test done and see if you're losing any compression.
