Default check engine light

I have a '95 Honda Prelude with a H22a engine. obviously it's swapped. When the car is on for a couple of minutes, the check engine light comes on and stays on. The former owner told me it's because he did an engine swap. Is that true ????
If not, how can I diagnose this problem ???
Thx in advance !!!!!

check engine light covers alot of shiet and alot of different sensors. have to plug in your code reader or atleast just start by reading cel codes. that should give you the direction to atleast follow for trouble-shooting

under the conter console on the towards the back on the drivers side there is a blue clip with two wires..you need to jump those two wires to tell you what code you are throwing...turn the car over but dont cut it on if that makes sense and the codes should blink a series of lights...long flashes are 10 and short flashes are 1...so do that and come back with the code it gives you...
