hmmm, I don't think so - but would like to hear what others think. This is what NGK posts as a normal looking plug and it looks pretty similar to mine. Maybe a little darker but it has that white dusting too.

I don't know if you guys know how to read plugs or not....Those white deposits mean your running lean bro...Way lean! the "IDEAL" color would be a light brown in the middle of the tip....If your getting white on the end of the top or the bottom, then your A/F ratio is off in either direction. white on the electrode also means ur runnin lean...get a magnifying glass to check further for metal flakes.
THanks - I think I'm a little lean but not horribly. Then again I'm no plug expert. However the electrode looked perfect and there was no damage, glazing, etc anywhere. I think I'm going to try scaling back the timing a little and see what happens.
