Default Boost upgrade JRSC EP3 Civic - results

Here are the results - so far - of our testing.

- All dyno figures are at the hubs not at the flywheel.
- Dynojet figures will be lower
- Stock EP3 provided for comparison

We took a base JRSC with 4.4 pulley.
- The injectors were upgraded to 440 cc
- A 4" pulley was fitted (around 8.2 pounds boost)
- A smaller belt was installed
- the ECU was upgraded to K-Pro

- Results in short - 45 hp increase

Red line

2002 Civic Si with Base kit as supplied by Jackson Racing
JR headers
Intake
Exhaust
4.4 pulley
TFI box.

Yellow line

2004 Civic Si
4.0 pulley.
440 injectors
Headers and intake and exhaust
Hondata ECU upgrade

For comparison here is a stock Civic Si as compared to a JRSC + intake + headers - which as you can see gives almost 40 hp over stock.

Jackson racing are in the final stages of preparing this upgrade for release. It will be a very good bang for the buck.

Still not enough torque for you? Try swapping in a K24 bottom end and retuning... The Accord K24 can be purchased for very little money. [IMG][/IMG]

This would be regarded as the race version.

The hesitation was caused by the interaction of:

- The spray pattern of the 550 injectors
- The shape of the manifold
- reversion ( reverse air pulses from the cylinders )

The solution was to use different injectors. Many were tested. All worked except RC550s.

This upgrade should be available very soon from Jackson Racing.

Really cool!
those are some really great gains with only another couple pounds of boost!
i'm impressed. Often you will read about the jrsc not gaining much the more you up the boost. Obviously this is untrue.

Cool stuff! can't wiat to up the boost on mine

did you try smaller rc's?
I'm suprized by the popularity of rc injectors with hondas,
because the spray pattern is different than that of the standard honda injector(lucas disc vs pintle type). I'm curious if the smaller rc's worked.
