Default Window Tint problem...

I just got my windows tinted today. On my back window, the top where the dot matrix border is... it looks like it's bubbling already. i heard that it's normal, but is there ANY way to get rid of the bubbled spots?

bubbles make take over a week to disappear. if the bubbles are still there after 2 weeks, take it back and have them redo the window. i've also heard of people having the tint shop scrape the black dots off before applying the tint.

Thanks for the inputs. I'll wait a couple days and see what happens. I also have one more concern that started happening today. My clutch pedal starts vibrating now after I shift into a higher gear and as i'm slowly releasing the clutch. This hasn't happened to me before... did something get misaligned? my car is brand new damn it!

Get that back window in direct sunlight as much as possible too. You can also help it along but using a dry soft cloth and periodically rubbing the tint gentle to help smooth it out.

What are those bubbles in the rear window for anyways? Aren't they like defrosters or somethings? Or is that the strips?

Anyways, as said before, wait for a hot day and start smoothing them out. For the bigger bubbles that wont smooth out, poke a small hole in them with a needle then try again. I found a bondo smoother to work very well in the hard to reach places.

I'm not sure why they are there. I think they are just for effect to give a transition from the black to the clear glass.

i believe the dot matrix on the back has something to do with the radio antenae which is why the accord doesnt have an external antenae

Bubbles are normal... wait for up to one week (most extreme case). If they're still not gone, then go back and have it redone.

most tinting shops know not to take the tint over the dots, the dots are made out of teflon, the stuff that cooking pans are made out of, they are anti sticky, the tint will never stick to it. you cant take the dots off because they baked into the glass at the factory, and they have nothing to do with the internal antenae

I'm not disagreeing with Wylie at all but all 9 cars and trucks that I've had tinted they've gone over the dot matrix everytime and it is always fine. Just nurse it every so often till it dries good and it will be fine.

man I had my back window done three times It looks like crap on the top where the dots are towards the left and right corners all three times it was there. It was done by a 3m solar tint I think im going to have someone else do it right.

I haven't gotten my windows tinted as I have wanted to but can't tent them very dark here and I really want 5% but you can't have it so I Think I will just save my money. When I had to replace the back window in my truck I tinted it myself because it is an old truck so I didn't car what it looked like but when you get up close you can see some bubbles. The middle is good but around the edges when you get close you can see them but bear in mind this was the first time I have ever tinted anything but it is 5% and I love it but it is hard to see out of sometimes. You can have 5% or any tint on trucks and SUV's here but not on cars.

While we're on the subject how do you get tinting off? Previous jack-*** owner did it themselves and it looks like ****. They also managed to slice through my rear defroster, I'm hoping I can fix it. Repair manual claims you can find the cut with a continuity test, then there's some sort of special epoxy you can paint on there that conducts electricity. Unfortunately no-one I've ever talked to has heard of this stuff. Anyone?
