idle problem..HELP
first off...this is a customers car. its a EJ8 (98 Ex civic) and i swapped in a b16. Everything went perfect...started up first shot and everything. it is a b16a2 full Si swap. so we fire it up and its idleing a little high. did a compression test.. 155 across the board +/- 5. WOW..almost perfect. next..spray carb cleaner all around manifold, to check for leaking. NOTHING. plugged valve cover purge that has a nipple sticking out....idle dropped a bit. it was sucking ari in...i thought it was supposed to blow it out?...hmm...next, i noticed a 19mm plug screw loose behind the header...coolant was slightly dripping out.????? tightened it. have not checked the IAC valve (but is clean), or TPS yet. but will tomarrow.
Now when i rev it (idle's at 2k) it goes up as normal then drops to about 2500 and stays...never drops....any ideas what this could be? TPS?????
i came to the type r guys because eg/del sol is just retarded...and i spend 95% of HT time in here.
thanks in advance,
-Deven

Did you play with the idle control, just to see if you could get the rpms any lower? I am not sure to tell you the truth but thought i would stick that thought out there or something for you to try.....

I think this is out of the question, but always a possibility i guess.

I don't think this is out of the question at all. Check your throttle cable, and make sure its not grabbing on anything. I think its just the cable.
