When I got up around 20 lbs of boost it started missing. I tried the MSD cap/CDI/coil combo, which worked if I kept the plugs gapped close, like .020 . Now I have COP, no misses at 20+ PSI with a .040 gap.

is that .25mm? or .025"?

How do you know if the stock coil is not enough already? do you get detonations? or it just misfires? Thanks!!!

misfires, mine weren't very noticeable, but they showed up on the dyno chart and affected performance

Just misfires, and I didn't even notice them, but they showed up on the dyno. There's some other less quantifiable stuff too, like the possibility of adding more fuel earlier with a stronger spark and a bigger gap, but I'd have to set up a controlled test for that and dyno tuning time ain't cheap.

sorry i meant .025 and yes you will start noticing misfires on the dyno graph before you will feel them. That will be the point at which you will actually make power with an aftermarket ignition system.

Prelude ignition systems are a bit finickier than the B series. Typically around 330-400 they may start to break up a little bit.

Prelude's also have a lower msbc than the B series do which also does not help.
