Icon2 Returning MSD to stock..problems

I recently purchased a 2000 civic dx with a h22a vtec swap, it had an msd ignition set up but the car wasnt running. I replaced the distributor, spark plugs, cap and rotor, still have the msd ignition control module and the coil on there, the car starts up and runs but misfires. i did the spark test and spark isnt getting to cylinder 2 from the plug wire. swapped the wires, wasnt the problem. i just want to return the whole ignition system back to stock but im not sure what exactly needs to be purchased, ive been searching quite a bit with no luck. any help would be greatly appreciated.

i have had problems with msd units on my boosted set up. and the truth of it is you need msd ignition after about 500 hp. so my suggestion is use stock setup plenty of guys make 400+ on stock ignition. Honda FTW baby. you need honda cap. i sugest new honda rotor but you can use teh msd one if you have that. and you need to get a honda internal coil like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1992-...s#ht_903wt_939

it mounts inside the distrib there should be two wires that go to it. PM me if u got questions

also u need to check that #2 plug wire it could be faulty to possibly. if it only missfire on #2 its gunna ,most likely be a problem with the cap or the plug wire.

So what all do I need to return it back to stock? What replaces the msd control box? I've already got a stock cap and rotor back on there, can't find any write ups for any of it.

You need a stock distributor. I had a msd kit in my car when I purchased it 4 years ago. Shitted out on me the next day so I just replaced it with a stock distributor.

I've got a new stock distributor on there, new cap, new rotor. The msd coil and msd control box are still hooked up, the car runs but misfires, when I did the spark test I alternated plug wires to make sure it wasn't just a wire. I just need to know what replaces the msd control box and if I can still use the blaster coil or if/how I need to go about replacing it. (Not much experience with external coil systems)

The msd is an external coil. I thought all stock h22 had internal coils?

srry i forgot H and F series motors use external coil so heres what u do:

mount external coil and wire it to the wires that went to the msd box.
take that msd box out...sell it whatever
use a stock honda distrib cap and connect your plug wires
done

It was a contact problem within the distributor itself, it runs fine, no misfire. It is throwin a code though which im about to check today. Its running a little rich so im thinking o2 sensor?
