I want to re build my motor what should i buy I have a greddy kit and i would like to push12-14 pounds and want to make 285-300 hp i here all i have to do is buy pistons and rods and i should be ok. what do you guys think? please if your not going to tell me then just dont reply just need some sugestions from people who have done it.
Yes rods and pistons are good enough. Get ARP hardware and a good headgasket and good tuning device like Hondata or uberdata and your good to go.
You will need:
Piston
Rod
New Water Pump
New Oil Pump
Headstud(AEBS or ARP)
ACL Bearing Set(Might be able to skip this)
Oem Headgasket
Those are probably the main parts, If you doing the labor yourself. You will saved a lot of money but if not prepared to be raped.

Should be ok.. Might be better to tell us if you want to make 285-300hp or do you want to run 12-14psi and what turbo.. One is different than the other..
ok; to make over 200whp you're going to need:
-the most expensive sleved block money can buy
-forged pistons
-forged rods
-knife edged and balanced to the nanogram crank
-$5k port job on the heads
-SC61 turbo
-Hondata/aem ems/motec/haltec/etc stand alone

im making 290whp on stock internals at 9psi...but a bigger turbo than greddy makes. what turbo is it exactly your going to be using?
I run 12-14 psi on my stock d-series rods/pistons and they are holding up. 230whp at 12 psi with my t3 60 trim. I am guessing this is a GSR from your screen name? You won't need to build your motor for your goals. Your GSR should have no problem hitting 285-300whp.

Are you doing the labor yourself??? if not looking at dumping around 2k in into for the installation and tuned. I was told in order to do the ACL bearing set the motor is required to be pull out of the car and some cutting to get the stuff on. Im not sure that that would raise the price up even more...
