Default How to roof mount tv?

Tried searching, didn't come up with much... Anyways, I'm interested in getting a roof mounted 10" with built in dvd, but not really sure how to mounted it up there. Do I make a metal plate, bolt it up to the roof supports and then bolt up the monitor? I have seem some installs where the monitor hangs down along with the headliner as if it wasn't secured to anything.

the best thing to do is to hold it up where you want it and then use masking tape to mark the outline on the headliner. Remove the headliner completely. Hopefully there is a crossbar support where you want to put it. Most overhead units come with some sort of mounting plate that you can use. I prefer to use rivets to mount this so it wont come loose, but you can use self tapping screws also. If there isn't a support close by, you will need to get some sheet metal from Home Depot and stretch this across two of the roof supports and rivet or screw this metal to the supports. Then you can mount the overhaead or the bracket to this metal. Just make sure you don't use long screws, one of our installers shot a screw through the customers roof once.
