Uberdata experts, read here, j1 jumper questoin
OK so i had the weekend to chip my p06 ecu for uberdata because i have a buddy w/ a civic who was outa town and i could use his ecu to drive on while i chipped mine, neways i go to test it after i chipped the ecu (no installing the J1 jumper cuz im not turbo yet just wanted it to run stock till i get the kit on), and Right before i plug it in to test, i showed my parents what id been doing for the past hour and i showed them how the zif socket grips and ungrips the chip, well when i put the ecu in the car and start it up it runs like ****, dunno what exactly wrong just bad. So im like hmm well why do i have the chip in there if its not running a turbo and its not burned so i take the chip out and start it, runs normal, then i realize that i had put the chip in the socket the wrong way when i put it back in after showing my rents, my questoin is why did the car act up when it was in backwards?? i thought the car wouldnt read nething from that part of the board if j1 wasnt jumped?? problem is solved just wondering.
Cliffs
ecu chipped, wanting to run stock cuz no turbo in yet, didnt jump J1, but chip was in backwards polarity so car ran like ****, fixed it, car runs smooth, why did car run bad even if it was in backwards if j1 wasnt jumped, thought car wouldnt read that part of the boardso it wouldnt see the backwards chip?? curiosity
