whos got msd? (show me)
i wanted some mounting ideas for my msd i have an ef (with batt. in truck) i need to mount msd ignition,2-step,and coil anyone have ideas and or pics of how to mount that in an ef??
I don't have any pics, but I mounted my 6AL and 2-step to a small piece of sheet metal and bolted it down to the floor on the passenger side (car is gutted, so I don't have to worry about a passenger anyway). In between the sheet metal and floor, I used some rubber stoppers (like rubber corks) to help reduce vibration to the 6AL. As for my coil, I just used a small piece of aluminum L-bracket and a small piece of aluminum sheet and mounted the coil (SS coil) to the firewall in the engine compartment. Hope that helps.
If you plan to use any audio in your car, you may not want to mount the box inside your car. If its mounted to close to the head unit you'll get a lot of interference from it. Here's a pic how I mounted mine...the box on the frame rail and the coil on the strut tower, but now that I am installing the turbo piping I have to move the box so I can run my ic piping along the frame rail.
any one else? this car is a daily driver so i have full interior and radio, my plan is to keep it all in the engine bay (except boost control and button for the 2-step) thanks for feed back keep the ideas comin

Mine sits on a plate on the exact same spot. I was having problems with my ZC because it's from an automatic and there's an unused and therefore plugged vacuum plug here, The MSD box would rub against it and make a hole and I'd bog like mad. I think my MSD box is bad, and I'm running without it and didn't notice a lick of difference so if you haven't bout it yet save your money.
