Default Raising an LS redline

Let me know what you guys think about this, it works in my head with only one small problem. Here what I plan on adding to my motor:
Z10 block girdle with the appropriate GS-R parts ~$350
Crower springs/retainers ~$300

What do you guys think my new safe redline will be? 7500~8000? Aside from piston squirters, this would be as good as a GS-R motors setup.

Now that problem that crops up is engine balance. Would occasional 8K romps be ok? I am boosted so don't worry about cam profile......

sounds safe to me. How bout fuel delivery? IS there adaquate fuel to run this high without starving?? I like the sound of the block girdle, however are the springs and retainers necessary with the stock cams?? I dont know just asking to see if you can save alittle coin.

Well, i'm running a full standalone(Zdyne SECU) and 450cc turbo DSM injectors....I'm good on the fuel aspect. I'm wanting the stiffer valve springs and light wieght retainers to keep valve float under control

There are few other things you need to watch out for:

1) exhaust valve guides
2) main bearings
3) connecting rod bearings
4) connecting rod bolts

Heat is the main issue here. Even when I was running NA and was running up to 8000 rpm, I've toasted some of the main and con-rod bearings, crank and exhaust valve guides.
While you're at it, get some ARP head studs! There will be alot of vibration on the bottom end. Also, an oil cooler is not a bad idea.

Good point X, i'm trying to stay away from a total tear out right now tho, or i'd just re-build it from the bottom up ......unfortunntely I don't have the time for a tear-down

I'm trying to find an LS short block to have re-sleveed by GE to a 2.0L, built up with Eagle rods, JE pistons, ARP head bolts, Z10 block girdle, Crower Springs/Retainers......Balanced, yum. 8000K and 15~20 PSI of boost.

hey Speed PHreak sounds like a good idea on that project engine BTW I just found a 90 ls longblock on car-parts.com for 225.00 and I am planning on doing close to what you have planned.
