Default Valvetrain for LSVTEC

What type of valvetrain do you guys suggest for an LSVTEC. My setup basically consists of an 84mm Golden Eagle block with Crowers, JEs and a GSR head with GSR cams. I am not going to spin the motor past 8200 rpms but I will be running 20+ lbs. of boost from a 60-1. I was thinking about going with just Ferrea or Crower springs and stock retainers since I heard that titanium retainers wear out. Can I run the Ferrea or Crower springs without their titanium retainers? Someone also suggested to go with Portflow inners with Type R outers since I won't be revving to high. What do you guys think?

I have an ls/vtec setup and it will see 20psi for sure in the near future. Hasn't yet cause im still breaking it in. Im using Skunk 2's valvetrain. Going with Portflow or even Ferrea will be fine in my opinion. I've never heard of Titanium retainers wearing out though? where did you hear that?

Goodluck.

Rocket from ef-1.com said that titanium retainers wear out. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=274110

Any other opinions?

I have a LS/Vtec I am near completing myself. I am just using TypeR valvetrain. I heard that titanium retainers wear out too because the material is soft. I don't plan on buzzing it past 8200rpm either and TypeR valvetrain is good up to 9000rpm. Sounds like our setups are all pretty simillar. Daily driving I will be running 10psi which is more then enough for TypeR valvetrain, and with good gas and more boost I will push 20psi with my 60-1 which wouldn't be that often, but should make 400-450whp when all is said and done.

GEN2TEG-I have a G2 aswell. Whats your mods? do you have any pics under the hood? I hope to have mine running in a couple weeks. Heres a shot of my baby seat teg.

ITR valve springs would be a economical choice over the Ferrea or Crower springs. I'm using Ferrea valves, ITR dual springs, and oem retainers with my boosted LSVT and a 8500-8700 rpm limit.
