i just put a B16A in and it cranks but no spark
i dont know about him but i am having the same problem with mine and i dont know what code 6 is but everywhere that i have looked says its like coolant temp sensor.
Yup, code 6 is the coolant temp sensor. But an unplugged/bad coolant temp sensor will not make the car not start. It will make it run like crap though.
I have a FSM at my disposal, can you give any more details about what is going on. Stuff you've checked so far, how it's wired, swap details anything like that.
maybe post a pic of the dist. plugs so i can see if the wires are right?

well i can say that i have check all distributor components with a multimeter and they are all within specs and the wiring is all correct to the dist. im sure you all have heard of Wyotech well thats where i attend school but i cant get any help from intructors because they wont touch it because its an engine swap....gay i know but what can i say so now i have to try and rely on this site for answers so any info on possibilities would help.
its probably the coil, see if a friend would let you barrow there's for a min. and swap it out. my swap is an obd1 and i had to extend the plugg for the temp sensor so make sure you have that is plugged in and the the ground at the thermostat is there and well grounded. and tell wyotech they suck ***** for not helping you.
thanks ill check those components but i know its not the coil because i put two diff. coils in it and still the same thing and i know for a fact that they are good. but i will check the ECT sensor and the thermostat ground.
when i did my swap i tried to start the car but it wouldnt. After a being frustrated for a while i realized i didnt have the throttle cable hooked up. I hooked it up and it started right up. I would try switching the two white wires at the distributor also. Goodluck man, all the hard work will pay off when you hit vtec for the first time
