Default Building engine to 9k+ RPM

What would you guys say is needed to bring the reline up to and/or past 9k on an LS/VTEC?

Any and everything you can think of. I'm making a shopping list. So far I think I have the valvetrain taken care of.

Stainless steel valves, titanium retainers, stiffened valve springs. Are the bronze guides necessary? ARP head studs are going to be used.

What would use suggest for the bottom end? So far, it's stock LS, except for CTR pistons). Anyone suggest a blockguard? How about ignition?

Any help is much appreciated.

Reliability isn't a big concern of mine (probably why I own an FD.. ), however, I am of the opinion that if you're going to to something, do it right the first time. Which is why I've enlisted the help of honda-tech.com. It IS a race only car. So not many chicks will be sitting in the passenger seat (what passenger seat? )

Right now, it's ITR cams. But the plan has always been Toda Spec Cs.. but I've just never had much to back up that aggresive of a cam, until recently, so I've kept the ITRs. But now I'm even considering a custom ground cam.

1.49 r/s thats a equasion for destruction. you might want to get better r/s before you rev to 9k because the internals will not last as long as a b16a reving the same. here are your options. b17a crank 91mm stroke and 140mm long rods. then custom pistons/ lower compression pistons that would acually make a higher compression.

the R/S on the B18B is 1.54:1 NOT 1.49!!!!

But, he is right, that thing is gonna be a pain in the ***.......pistons, rods, arp bolts, valve springs, cams, retainers, stainless steel valves, brass guides.....port and polish......type R oil pump.

Where are you going to race it????? I hope you're not road racing or autoX'ing it, because the motor you're putting in it will toss you out of just about any class...

concetrate 80% on oiling capacity, upgrade and shim your brand new Type R oilpump (you did buy one right?), the crank girdle that companies sell for the LS/B20B/Z blocks help alot, the Moroso oilpan for sturdyness at bottom of the block, and oiling capacity, and VERY IMPORTANT tight oil clearances on all main and rod bearings, i.e. plastigaging.

You'll be fine with that and a 1.54 rr.

well, the car was built to the NIRA rule book, but has been kept street legal as well. It will be autocrossed and road raced, but not competitively.
