If you had washed your cylinder walls and tried to do a compression test, the test would be lower right. My question is how much lower would they be.

 

Could be as low as 0...at least thats what my friends H22 did when a piece of the cap cracked off in the distro and caused the car to do all sorts of funky things and ran WAY too much fuel...within ~3 miles the rings in cyl 1 were completely washed.

 

if the cylinder walls are washed from too much fuel (ie, leaky injector), if you fix the problem, is there a way to "re-oil" the rings and cylinder walls without tearing apart the block? i was told (by an unreliable source) that you can get away with putting a couple ounces of oil in through the spark plug hole and let it slowly drain to the pan overnight and that should help. any thoughts? thanks in advance.

What happens when too much gas is left unburnt in the cylinder is the gas cleans the oil off the cylinder wall, causing lack of lubrication. This lack of lubrication causes the rings to wear faster. If your compression is low due to this, there is nothing you can about it except put new rings in it and hone the cylinder walls.
