Default Anyone running an oil restrictor on a -3AN oil feed line?

Set up: SC 61 turbo/B18c.

Im replacing my -4AN line with a -3AN line due to oil consumption (oil being pushing passed the turbo seals). Will the -3AN be enough oil restriction alone or should I add the oil restrictor on top of that? The oil restrictor I have is a #72 or #74 NOS jet (I forget which one).

i have one on mine.. i see 5 psi at idle and it goes over 40 at 4000rpm.. i used a needle valve... i only put one on cause i had a bad turbo before and i was just paranoid.. it only cost me 4 bucks at grainger...-3an feed for me by the way..

I welded my 90 degree nipple on the turbo shut and drilled a small hole through the weld to act as my restrictor.. I forgot what size drill i used, but it's been working great so far.. btw, i'm using a 4AN line ..

I never see any smoke comin out the exhaust, or oil residue in my turbo inlet and turbine outlet...

a must, if you have MINOR oil seal problems...

I had never seen any factory turbo'd engines' oiling systems until a couple nights ago working on a friend's SR20DET. The restrictor is placed in the banjo bolt and the oil feed hard line is probably equivalent to a -4AN line.

We've also had problems on a 3G Eclipse turbo setup when it didn't use a restrictor. It used a -4AN line.

It doesn't help the original poster, but at least it'll throw more info into the general knowledge pool.
