high boost d block?
how much boost will a stock sleeves ina D block hold?, and what about stock axles... and does anyone know ppl that make adapters for a hx manifold for a turbo.
Stock sleeves will probably hold between 11-12psi with very good tuning. Most people stick around 8-10. I personally wouldn't push it much more without new rods/pistons. As for adaptor plates, Check turbod16.com. Theres a guy who posts alot on there that makes custom ones cheap...sorry I don't remember his screen name.......
What I have heard is that the D-series sleeves (well at east the z6/y8) can hold up to about 300-350hp, but it depends on how well your tuning is... This is whaty i was told and read on D-series.org... However stock rods cant hold more then 200hp daily....

Im not trying to bust on you or anything but when talking about how much a certain part can hold shouldnt it be refered to in HP numbers, because different turbos make different hp @ the same psi...
I agree that rods and pistons should be changed if u plan on making more then 200hp, especially the rods, that is one of the weakest parts of a D16...
But ive seen people in PR boosting 15psi on stock sleeves.... They use suzuki vitara pistons and some forged rods (not sure of brand) but there was about 3 guys with the same setup...

Stock sleeves in a D can hold way more than anyone is really saying.
The last turbo D series I saw pulling 425whp was on stock sleeves. If you think about it, when everyone builds these high hp d blocks, something always breaks before a sleeve. I have never personally heard a story of anyone breaking a stock D sleeve on boost. Usually the pistons always let go first, even in forged applications.
As for the stock rods, its more like 250. I've seen up to 268 and even 302 on completely stock z6 blocks.

i've seen 421 on all stock internals. i guess the guy only turns it up to 20 psi when at the track and 10 psi daily driven. he has a dyno sheet on turbod16.com. i'd say stock sleeves can hold 300-400 hp with some support but the rods/pistons won't handle it for long.

yeah but its just like that other dude said.. HP output is (nearly) irrelevant cuz a T25 doesnt make the same power as a T76 at same PSI.
