Default is the ls a good motor

is the b18b1 a good motor for the money? is it good for turbo'ing? is the ls tranny ne good?

ls engines are good for turbo's because they have such low compression, so you can put more boost on the engine. vtec motors on the other hand are also pretty good because you have a tad bit more compression so you dont need as much boost to make the same numbers.

but idealy you want a low compression engine for any boost application.

the ls tranny has long gears, which means you wont acclerate as fast as let say a gsr would. alot of people do tranny swaps. gears are alot closer and shorter, so you get up to speed alot quicker. and im guessing that if you're throwing down big numbers on a turbo application, having a shorter closer gearing system would make your tires break loose more often then if you kept the normal ls tranny. i could be wrong on that tho.
