rota's best bet, cheap good lookin, light. a lot of people rock those, unless you wanna be baller and get volks, gram lights, or the real spoon or real mugens!!

As everyone already has stated rota wheels are fairly light and are inexpensive. If your looking for really light wheels your gonna have to go to a forged wheel which = more money ie.. volks, real spoons, mugen, a few racing harts. I personally roll 15in racing hart cp-035's which weigh in at 7.9lbs and love them.
You are correct. The CF wheels are simply an overlay over the aluminum.
As quite a few have stated before, Rotas are a great value for the money and are relatively light. If you're looking for equivalent wheels, I'd also recommend the Enkei RPF-1 and Koenig Helium. Both are light and strong without being too expensive.

Sorry, me again.
Another option is a set of used Miata wheels. They're 4x100 and are made by Enkei. From what I remember, the 14" ones weighed something like 11 pounds on average, with the 15's being around 13.
I don't know what setup you have, but just note that you may have a clearance issue. The 15" Miata wheels I had fit our EX fine, but the smaller 14" ones wouldn't clear the front brake calipers. They cleared the rear discs fine.

One of my all time favorite rims. I will own a set in winning gold, someday.
Right now I have enkei rpf1. 15X7 9.5lbs, I love them!
