Default Improperly installed timing belt

First I have to say that this forum is great. I have been reading for some time, but this is my first post.

I have replaced a timing belt on D15B7 and misread TDC mark on the camshaft (my stupidity). It was off by 180 (half turn) – crank was at tdc. When I started the engine, idle was ok without any sighs of trouble. Wife called, that I have to pick her up, that when the problems started. Car was hesitating not getting revs up. I had to drive this way for about 6 mi.

I did correct the problem with a timing belt, and engine appears to run normally.

Do you guys think, did I do any damage to any part of the engine by driving this way? What should I check?

first off get the belt on correctly, then go with a compression test. unless you have and know how to use a cylinder leakage tester. this will show you if you have any bent valves. if you got the belt on with the crank at tdc and the cam exactly 180 if, you are still ok because if you rotate the crank 360 that will bring the cam 180 in. remember the cam spins half the speed of the crank. if it is off a tooth or 2 you may be ok, good luck either way man.

I have a related question: Why did his car run but run poorly? I am thinking that the firing order was out because the cam was 180 out, does that make sense?

I don't mean to thread-jack, but, for me at least, if I understand that machine better then I better know what to look for when troubleshooting.

EDIT: Corrected typo.
