Car shakes?
Whenever I first take off, my car starts to shake and rattle. It only happens when i first take off. After that, it goes away. Anybody know what it is? This is on an 88 crx hf.

It's coming from the engine compartment. It's not the actual car itself.

The engine "shaking" is usually a result of a "dead miss.."
Which is one particular cylinder not firing/producing power..
{Might be time for a tune-up...}
Does it have a noticable lack of power when this occurs?
Harsh clutch engagement as a result of a worn-out clutch could also cause
a shaking sensation..

lol, yes I am giving it enough gas, but that is the kind of shaking it feels like.

I did the tune up, replaced the clutch, and it still happens. No loss of power at all as the shaking only occurs when I first take off.

check your motor mounts the rubber might be cracking it might not be demolished but even if its wore out in the middle around the metal spacer in the rubber could make it shake at a lower rpm ....or could be the flywheel like he said...

Yes, I had the flywheel resurfaced. I will check the motor mounts.

i know my car vibrates a lot but it is from the Hasport Mounts. they are really stiff. i like it though
like they said, check the motor mounts. you might need to retorque one of them or maybe replace an insert or something.
