Does anyone know how to get the little stupid grey cap off that covers where the rear view mirror mounts to the headliner/roof? I've tried prying at it but have gotten nowhere.

Dude, this thing is on SO F'ING TIGHT!!! I took this huge flat headed screwdriver and was prying up and it was flexing the headliner...something fishy is up with this thing...

 

Snap cover, Use something like the one in the middle of this pic.

It has a bend in it so the prying part is in your favor.

If your marking the headliner then place a few layers of cardboard between the tool and headliner.

 

I just hit mine w/ my rollbar when we put it in

Hehe for real I think it just popped in and out.

 

the black bar that extends to the rear view mirror...

just grab a hold, and pull down. it will come off.

Your method works, butcher. That only makes the mirror loose with time..

Do it my way.

 

Well, i did the w@@t w@@t method by accident, but it worked...reason i was taking the mirror off was to install my JDM Access roof console...yippee...a place to store my garage door opener and sunglasses now that i installed the Armrest eliminator also...woohoo
