Putting tranny back together...how to tell if it's right??
I replaced the input shaft bearing on my tranny and i'm trying to put hte mainshaft and countershaft back in, but I just want to make sure everything is right before I seal it back up. First, the holes in the case where the 3 shift forks go into, how far down are these shafts supposed to go? Second, the gears are lined up and spin fine, but they're not perfectly lined up...is this ok? I'll try and attach some pics to better describe, but I'm not sure how good the quality is. TIA.

thanks, that's a horrible pic anyway
now i can't get the shift arm attaching bolt to line up and go in, i think the gears and everything are ok.

Got one, and I agree it's very helpful, but it doesn't show how it should all look from every angle, the shot it shows is not the one I need. Plus it doesn't say much except do this and do that, instead of how to do this and that.
I think it's all right, because everything seems to be matching up, such as the reverse shift holder which would match up if the shift forks weren't right and so on and so forth. Now i just gotta figure out how to get the case back on and the snap ring.
